Vodafone wanted to bring the joy of Christmas into the homes of their 500+ employees and their children when Covid-19 made their yearly Christmas party and visit from Santa impossible.
What we did
256 crafted a plan to bring a personal message from Santa to every child in the audience (it was timed to go live the day of the Late late Show Toy Show). We built a bespoke Santa's grotto in the studio and through a smart video workflow, we recorded 380 personalised Santa messages to the children of each Vodafone employee's family.
Through meticulous planning and scheduling, each video took under ten minutes to shoot, edit, render out directly to Vimeo links and upload to its own custom generated webpage.
This project is part of the ongoing internal communications programme in Vodafone Ireland in which content plays a key role in engaging staff.
Our content solution illustrated perfectly how video personalisation at scale is possible, even on a very tight turnaround, when you add a little sprinkling of Christmas magic.
380 Santa videos were sent out with a 100% open rate. Each video was watched an average of 8 times and shared on average 5 times as families spread the Christmas cheer to their extended families, grandparents and friends who they could not see in person because of the pandemic.
